Assos hK.607 Lady_S5 Women's Knickers $268.95
Winter has met its match.
Knickers can be among the most versatile bottoms in your cycling wardrobe. They're good for at least two seasons of every year, fall and spring. Sometimes we wear them well into winter depending on the weather. The key to wearing knickers is that they need to fit well; a poorly placed gripper or seam can ruin an otherwise promising experience. Always at the forefront of fit, Assos has improved their hK (half-knicker) spring and fall bottoms by using their new 607 textile mix to make the hK.607 Lady Knickers.
With a new panel pattern, Assos mixes their traditional RX brushed stretch fleece fabric with RXQ, which is patterned to provide more air channels against your skin. The paneling minimizes bunching and slippage and avoids putting seams in places where they might chafe your leg, like directly over the knee. The RX textile is used for the center panels that go under the saddle and on the inside of your legs because it is dense and extremely durable. The RXQ is lighter and warmer and wraps around the leg easily.
At the bottom Assos uses a wide, soft gripper that holds firmly without digging. They give the top hem a two-part waistband. The front portion is a wide, soft, elastic-free Lycra panel that hugs without squeezing or creating pressure points. This makes the waist super comfortable, especially as you bend over to reach for the bars. The back half uses a wide gripper that holds the waist in place.
The chamois is the same one found in Assos' F1.Lady bottoms. In other words, it's the s5 pad. It's seamless on top, with a waffle design that wicks and stretches. They design it with variable thickness padding to put more cushion underneath your sit-bones and less everywhere else.
The Assos hK.607 Lady Knickers come in Black only. Assos deems this part of their climaRange 4, effective for 48-61\260 F (8-16 \260 C). There is a reflective tab sewn into the back panels on the left leg. Sizes run from X-Small to X-Large.

What community has to say
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Assos never disappoints me, and these knickers (size small), were no different. I tried them out on 2 60+ mile rides in 49-68 degree temps. They were warm without roasting me, breathed well, and the wide soft waist band was perfect, no binding, no slipping down. The only slight drawback was the below the knee leg gripper. I found it a bit tight and I have really thin legs, so if you have muscular legs, this might be a tad uncomfortable. But for us pencil legs, it was just a minor annoyance. No chaffing behind the knee, or anywhere else for that matter.
