If your feet are the extreme outposts of your body, then your socks are your first line of defense against cold weather. The wrong socks will freeze your feet in one of two ways -- they'll either be too thin or be so hot that your sweat turns to ice. To answer this vexing problem, Assos has a range of socks from warm to warmest. The result are socks for varying temperatures and varying feet. And for any temperate climate folk, the earlyWinterSocks_S7 will fit into the warm range for early winter riding.
The earlyWinterSocks_S7 are a blend of 70% Merino wool, 18% nylon, 10% polyester, and 2% lycra. It's a mix of materials that will ensure comfort, warmth, and durability. One aspect that we love is the calculated, variant thickness. The fabric is light around the ankle cuff and across the top of the foot. This pattern was used to avoid over-stuffing your shoes. To balance the protection, the socks have a thick sole, padding on the ball of the foot, and a gentle compression band that wraps around the arch. The socks are warmer than your standard synthetic winter sock, but are lighter than your average summer-weight wool sock. However, you don't have to worry if you come from a lineage of hot-footed people -- the construction breathes like a champ, so your feet won't be pedaling in a couple of wading pools.
The Assos earlyWinterSocks_S7 come in the colors Black Vokanga and White Panther. In Assos speak, they're part of Assos' earlyWinter climaRange, which means that they're suitable from 43-54 degrees F (6-12 degrees C). However, your comfort range may vary. The socks are available in sizes I, II, and 0.
