Assos earlyWinterInteractive Long Sleeve Base Layer $169.95
The earlyWinter Interactive Long Sleeve Base Layer is identical in every way to the Assos Fall base layer, with one central difference: It has a zippered, high-neck construction, in contrast to the Fall's collarless design. The zippered neck allows for temperature regulation -- especially nice when you're climbing. And its high-neck cut wards off the chilly wind a bit better.
Assos suggests that you use the earlyWinter Interactive Long Sleeve Base Layer along with their elementOne or airJack jackets, depending on the temperature. Assos recommends the earlyWinter for temperatures ranging from 43-54 degrees. Available in sizes Small-TIR, in two colors -- Black and White.
One final note: Assos base layers are not specific to men or women. They are designed to be unisex.

White/Black are different, runs small
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
My wife and I love our Assos jerseys and the discount price on these base layers was too good to pass up on so I bought three, one each of XS, S and M with the thought that I would wear the medium and she would either wear XS or S. Well I am 5'9" 150lbs and my wife is 5'5" and 115lbs. The M was too tight for me and while the S was about right for my wife it was white in color and the material was rougher than the black versions (XS and M were black). I thought it was really strange that the materials would be different for different colors of the same garment! The black was a silky lycra type material but the white had a rougher texture inside. Wierd, huh! The end result was that my wife is going to wear the medium - it is a tad loose in the arms for her but otherwise looks and feels right for her. Unfortunately I need to return the XS and the S.
Now I know that base layers are supposed to be tight fitting, but I just could not get comfortable in the M size, and my Assos jersey is M and fits loose! Too bad manufacturers can't keep better consistency in sizing. Aside from the sizing the garment is high quality and on the heavy side, I am sure it will keep my wife nice and warm on cooler days!
