Item # AAS000U

Referring to its T FI.Uno Bib Shorts as 'all-around racing and training shorts,' Assos perfectly describes what this technical pair of bibs were designed for. The cut and fabrics used to construct the shorts provide the ultimate blend of comfort and day-long riding support, making them the optimal choice for all of your upcoming rides this season. And for this limited release, Assos paired the shorts with a subtle Competitive Cyclist graphic treatment, perfectly complementing the new Competitive Cyclist SS Jersey Equipe. The outer leg panels' sublimated graphics smoothly transition into the rest of the bib shorts' composition, tastefully finishing off these new bibs from Assos.

For the paneling of the T FI.Uno, Assos employed its lightweight A430 fabric. This fabric is used in the paneling of many of Assos' bib shorts, as it's incredibly comfortable and supportive. The material provides exceptional breathability, and it rapidly transfers moisture to its quick-drying outer-surface. Additionally, this smooth fabric provides a moderately compressive hold, which, in turn, supports the muscle groups of the legs. As a result, these muscles are partially shielded from the fatigue-inducing effects of muscle oscillation that are derivative of road vibration. For the bibs' upper portion, the A430 fabric comprises the lower back and fronts of the straps to smoothly wrap, ventilate, and efficiently wick moisture away from the skin.

The chamois used for the bib shorts is Assos' new FI.Uno_S5 insert. This chamois is actually two separate pads with two separate sections of stitching. The layer next to your skin is softer than what you get on the S2. While it lacks in none of the elasticity of the original FI chamois, it somehow feels less rubbery than the original. In other words, when it's being stretched, it doesn't try to snap back into place, so it won't abrade your skin. The chamois is dimpled, too, in order to facilitate heat ventilation. You'll also note a broad cut at the front of the chamois that further reduces pressure -- seen by the wide stitching in the front of the shorts.

The T FI.Uno bibs were finished off in true Assos fashion. The edges of the side panels have small reflective tabs, and the bottoms of the legs have Assos' signature external grippers. Small Assos logos were placed at the rear hip and center seam. Additionally, sublimated Competitive Cyclist graphics were added to both outer leg panels.

The Assos Competitive Cyclist T FI.Uno Bib Shorts are available in six sizes from Small to TIR (XXX-Large) and in the Competitive Cyclist Black colorway.

Best Chamois EVER!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

OMg! (little "g" for goodness - As wonderful as they are, they don't justify using the Lord's name in vain) I'm fairly new to higher end clothing . . . got my first pair of non-bargain-basement bibs last year. I was surprised that the more expensive stuff was actually more comfortable. Than I saw some reviews on this bib, and it was on sale; I decided to spoil myself . . . early B-day gift if you will. SOOOO glad I did. The Chamois is AMAZING. I swear it's a slice of Heaven under by backside. So comfortable (yet not bulky) that I almost (almost) wore to to work under by khakis! And the packaging . . . I almost thought I got a product from Apple. (almost overkill for an item of clothing) It even came with a mesh bag to wash it in. (need I say more?) and the craftsmanship is incredible as well. I've only worn them once, but so far so good. VERY PLEASED . . . so far. If you get them on sale, the sticker shock isn't so bad.

Nice n cushy Chamois

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I took the plunge and bought these. Trying to figure out what makes assos so expensive. Ive used them on the trainer so its been limited but so far so good. Nice packaging! and the workmanship is exceptional. The chamois is super cushy!!

I wouldn't have believed...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

There could be that much of a difference between two "relatively" high end pairs of bibs. I've religious worn Pearl Izumi for a long time. I'll have to admit that since I've tried the Assos I can really tell the difference in comfort. The difference isn't apparent when just putting them on initially, but after a couple of hours I'm certainly more comfortable.

These bibs are simply delicious! The fit was dead on, maybe even a 1/2 size larger than expected. Sometimes the Assos' bibs are tight when standing or sitting straight up, but these fit perfectly in every position. Leg grips are super plush and make a great fusion between leg warmers and the bibs with just enough grip - but not to tight. Chamois is the best, nothing more to say, it's the best and makes you feel like someone replaced your minimalist seat in the night before your ride with a plush spring seat from a beach cruiser. Comes in a hermetically sealed box that would make Tiffany's envious of the packaging. Even an owners manual - had a picture of my girlfriend on the booklet from her photo shoot - nice touch :) and a bag to place these tasty bibs into when you wash off those 100 mile daily rides!

    Great pair of shorts.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I don't usually spend this much on bike clothing so when I received these I checked every seam, stitch and square inch for faults. I didn't find a single one. They are really comfortable, the pad is thicker and bulkier than what I'm used to. After a couple of months of constant use they still look brand new. They come with a laundry bag, the instructions are to wash them in the bag with no spin cycle, gently squeeze the water out and then hang to dry. They take a while to dry so now I wash them with everything else and it seems fine. I'm 6'1''/180 and the XL fit me fine. When I get to my target weight, 170, I think the fit will still be good.

    Looks pretty awesome

I really like the look and the tech explained in the shorts, however you would think that the shorts would be more affordable seeing that you are advertising for competitive cyclist wherever you ride...just my 2 cents
