Description

What goes down must come up.

Even freeriders have to pedal sometimes. Alpinestars designed Manual Shorts with DH and freeride in mind–a long cut, a loose fit, and plenty of pocket space and ventilation. Then it added a snap-in, removable mesh liner with a chamois to take some of the bite out of the pedal up.

Alpinestars built Manual Shorts with strategically located stretch and vent panels. On the back and in the crotch, spandex panels stretch for an unlimited range of motion. This also adds to the shorts' durability, because it stretches rather than wearing. The synthetic fabric pulls moisture away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable, even in the heat of the summer. Alpinestars also designed Manual shorts with mesh panel vents on the thighs that push hot, stale air out and allow fresh, cool air to flow in and around your body. The seamless seat area is constructed with an abrasion-resistant textile for added durability.

The removable chamois liner absorbs shock and vibration to reduce fatigue. It also manages moisture to keep you dry and comfortable. The liner can also be worn with other shorts, so you can transform any of your other shorts into bike shorts.

Alpinestars included hook-and-loop waist adjustment straps that allow you to dial in your fit, and cargo pockets that provide comfortable, convenient, secure storage while you ride. There is also a media pocket with headphone cord conduit for your music.

Alpinestars Manual Shorts come in Chocolate, Woodbine Green, Dark Gray, and Black and are available in even sizes 28 to 40.

Fits great but?.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Things fit great, actually my favorite pair in the closet, however, the smaller pocket up by the left hip tore relatively early on in its life with me.
Nothing some hand stitching couldn't fix though!

Terrible!!! Bad quality !!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I exchange them for size 40 because there are pretty tight for my size. Material looks strong but it is not. I had them twice. Second time i was wearing them for a 3 hours bike ride and look what left after a normal steady pedaling . It is garbage now!!! i would say for pants that even on sale cost 47$ it is a lot!! i wish i could get some refund!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Waist is to a key thighs and crotch area very limited movement I had to return mine :/

Dont plan on sweating....

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are great for chillin' in....But as for riding they are not so great.. They stick to you like saran wrap when you sweat! only spot they breathe is on the knee cap? otherwise it feels like your wearing jeans....

Tight Thighs!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are very nice shorts, and the waist size is pretty accurate. But they are crazy tight at the top of your thighs! Like cut off circulation to your legs tight. If you have skinny thighs get the shorts... otherwise, look elsewhere. :)

Bad Fit

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I think the shorts looked great until I put them on. The waist and length were fine but the crotch has a terrible design, it allows very little to no movement.

Restrictive

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The construction and quality of the shorts seems to be of high quality but I did not like the fit. I found these to restrict movement quite a bit and the rear stretch panel didn't help much. The fit was loose but shorts could use some stretch panels in the legs or crotch. The chamois were pretty weak. They had a shorter than normal inseam and the pad looked pretty lame.

Great Shorts, A Little Overpriced

First thing first, I would suggest you size up since these have a heavy duty liner in them. I normally wear a 30-31, but got these in a 32" and they fit perfect. The actual shorts fit true to size, but you got to remember these also come with a seat liner.

Overall these are great shorts, seem to be made of a heavy duty cordura type material, haven't crashed in them yet, so can't say how will they would hold up, but from the looks of it, you aren't going to get anything better.

Plenty of pockets and breath-ability, the inner liner is made of the moisture wicking material as well.

My only gripe is they are a little over-priced for what you get, don't get me wrong, they are probably the best shorts I've ever own, but I'd say $20-$30 of the price in these shorts is the name brand. Hence my reason for giving them a 4 star review, price aside they are definitely 5 out of 5
