- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

Feels like boardshorts
Bought these on sale but it feels so much like board shorts to me rather than mountain bike shorts. I found the shorts too big for the size so I would recommend sizing down. Not bad for the price but I would have rather invested a few bucks more on something else.
good value. sized right
Bought these because of the great sale. Purchased a size up due to previous reviews. I found them to be too big. I should have purchased my normal size. One draw back. They were very hot. Riding in 50 degree weather I was still literally sweating my @$$ off - not good considering they were too big anyway! If I had the right size, I would consider them a good short for the sale price - would not pay retail.
These shorts rock.
Fit just right for a size 32, def rugged construction (NO CHAMOIS!) so make sure you buy a liner if needed, what you get for the price is nothing short of "pretty awesome"
I don't have much experience with different types of shorts, but I love these. The price is very reasonable for these shorts. Some other reviewers recommended buying a size up and after receiving my shorts I'd agree. I typically wear 32, but got the 34's. A little adjustment with the hip velcro straps and I'm all set. There is also plenty of room for the padded inner lining for dh days. Super happy with the shorts.
Great MTB shorts
The material is tough but flexible and comfortable. Not too hot on a summer day because of the massive vents. The fit is tight but it stretches. However, you can't put much stuff in the pockets.
Hypertight not hyperlight
Based on advise of other reviewers I ordered a 34 instead of my usual 32. The waist did fit but the ass was bulbous and the thighs were so tight I had to return them. They looked like a pair of jodhpurs. I also wouldnt call them hyperlight. They are definitely thicker than my Fox Sergeant shorts and the mesh liner seemed to make them hotter, not cooler. I'll stick with my Fox shorts.
I got these about 2 or 3 days after I ordered them, so that was awesome.
Got to test them out both on the XC bike and the DH/Freeride bike.
These shorts are melvin(front-wedgie)-proof! Really comfy, also.
They breathe super well and I can fit knee pads on without any trouble whatsoever.
They're easy to wash too.
All in all, I love these shorts! The pockets are good enough for a key and that's about it though. But that's what the backpack is for.
I have a 32 inch waste and typical cyclist size upper legs (big). I ordered 32 and they were waay to tight around my legs.
First of all, if your coming from wearing pants or even basketball shorts while you ride, its a HUGE difference.
-very very very comfortable
-Not constricting at all
-Never roll up, or show off those white thighs
-Feels like your wearing nothing while you ride, until you fall and they protect you much better than jeans!
-zipper pockets are perfect for your keys and phone
stop reading this and go out and get em!
Looks great, durable material
Excellent short for biking, I would recommend purchasing this shorts. The pockets are zippered and aren't too long. The material is very comfortable, light weight, and it has a mesh liner. True to the size and perfect length. The waist is adjustable (Velcro). Overall a excellent purchase. If you need a new pair of shorts consider Alpinestars.
Are these shorts true to size with your...
Are these shorts true to size with your normal pants/jeans size? Thanks
I would definately recommend a size up. I wear size 32's, needed a 34 with these. Also, its pretty easy to adjust these if they are a little big.
Rock solid pair of Alpinestars
Awesome pair of shorts! Lightweight and comfortable with mesh lining. Everywhere that looks like a mesh material on the outer shell actually has a little stretch making jumping on and off the bike super easy. You get 2 pockets in the front and anther on the right leg, all zipper closures. The hook and loop adjustment on the waist is slick too. It has quite a bit of stretch making a custom fit quick and easy. The stitching on the adjuster feels solid too. There is no seam in the crotch either so life well be all the more enjoyable. The closure is similar to shoe lace material and there is a velcro fly. These shorts are super breathable and have awesome styling to boot. Would recomend a touch bigger size than you think you'll need.
Dont blush, its the backside.
