Rip the whole mountain comfortably.

XC and all-mountain riders spend as much time in the saddle as they do standing up on the pedals. For that reason, a liner short with a chamois is essential. The Alpinestars Drop Shorts incorporate a removable liner with a chamois to reduce fatigue by absorbing shock and vibration. The chamois also pulls moisture away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable.

Alpinestars built the Drop Shorts with strategically located stretch and vent panels. On the back and in the crotch, spandex panels stretch for an unlimited range of motion.  This also adds to the shorts' durability, because it stretches rather than wearing. The synthetic fabric pulls moisture away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable, even in the heat of the summer. Alpinestars also added zippered mesh vents on the thighs that push hot, stale air out and allow fresh, cool air to flow in and around your body. Stretch ripstop reinforcements at the hem add durability.

A removable liner with a chamois absorbs shock and vibration to reduce fatigue. It also manages moisture to keep you dry and comfortable. The liner can also be worn with other shorts, so you can transform any of your other shorts into bike shorts. Alpinestars also included hook-and-loop waist adjustment straps that allow you to perfectly dial in your fit, and flat side pockets provide comfortable, convenient, secure storage while you ride.

Alpinestars Drop Shorts come in Black/White, True Red/White, Bright Green/White, and White/Black and are available in even sizes 28 to 40.

  • Stretch inserts at back and crotch
  • Zippered mesh thigh inserts
  • Removable chamois liner

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

These shorts rock!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34

These shorts are lightweight, stretch in all the right places, and are still durable enough to hold up through my first few crashes in them. These shorts fit a little snug around the thighs, and since I prefer a baggier fit I went up a size and am not disappointed, as the velcro waist adjustments on either side make for a perfect fit every time! I highly recommend these shorts!

Great shorts!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 36

Taken a few spills on these things and they're still holding up. They run a bit small, but then again, I have big thighs. I've always loved alpinestars and they never let me down.

Nice Shorts! Run Small

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

These are nice shorts with good ventilation. I was hoping to use these for DH or Enduro riding, but I am afraid a crash would tear up these pricey shorts. I would suggest ordering a size up, especially if you ever wear hip pads. I am a size 32/33 waist in most jeans. But a 34 was way too snug in the legs and butt. Ultimately went with a 36.

Light and Durable!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

After riding these for a season, I have to say its one of the best pairs of shorts I've ever owned. I've ridden lots of shorts from Maloja, Fox, One Industries, and TLD, but always choose these. Light enough for hot summer trail rides, and durable enough for lift serviced shredding. Fit is true to size, and there are good vents and pockets for the necessities.

Fit like a glove!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

AMAZING fitting riding shorts, stretchy lightweight fabric feels like im wearing compression. but since i dread wearing spandex these are the next best thing! NOT skin tight these are normal riders shorts. they fit true and look awesome. The Chamois is a little snug but overall awesome product!

Great shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've used these x3 since I've gotten them. They fit true to size, not loose as the tech specs state. Great material with good breathability. It has plenty of vents and pockets. Only drawback that I can find is the chamois. A little short on the thighs, but breaths great and doesn't get annoying after a long ride. Has plenty of padding that extends into the inner thighs not just the crotch area. Definitely worth the discounted price.
