3T describes its new Stylus 0 Team Seatpost as a 'fresh new take on the two-bolt seatpost.' We fully agree, as the sleek post provides a solid, lightweight pillar for mounting your perch, and it possesses the same classic styling that you've come to expect from 3T.

The new Stylus 0 Team seatpost was constructed from a blend of lightweight and durable carbon fiber and aluminum. For the shaft, 3T used its ultra-stiff carbon fiber. Long a preferred choice for its smooth, damping ride characteristics, 3T's carbon provides you with the ultimate blend of low weight, stiffness, and comfort. Atop the carbon post, 3T added its refined two-bolt alloy head. This new finned clamping interface is where the new post really shines, as 3T spent considerable time getting both the look and functionality just right. The alloy head features a rearward 'swoosh' that was modeled after the classic single-bolt designs of the good ol' days, keeping that traditional aesthetic alive.

The two clamping bolts were placed on either side of the saddle-support cradle, resulting in a secure, stable clamping interface that's easy to adjust. 3T's Stylus 0 models place the seat clamp assembly directly in line with the seatpost for zero setback. 3T's reasoning for this design is that many professional cyclists prefer a neutral positioning in favor of being set back, which allows them to easily get forward on the saddle and down into an aerodynamic position.

The 3T Stylus 0 Team Seatpost is available in 280, 350, and 420mm lengths, with either a 27.2 or 31.6mm diameter. The post comes in either a UD Matte Black finish that features a Red stripe down the length of the post, or a Stealth colorway without the stripe. The post weighs around 195g (31.6mm x 280mm).

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

3T is arguably the most famous manufacturer of cycling cockpit components (posts, stems, handlebars) in the cycling world. 3T stands for Tecnologia del Tubo Torino (or Turin Tube Technology) and was founded by Mario Dedioniggi in Northern Italy in 1961. 3T is used all over the UCI pro peleton. Lots of expertise here.

I have used this seat post in the 27.2 diam/280 mm length on my road bike nearly daily for the last year -including on the sometimes very rough and mountainous roads here in Northern California with zero problems.

In sum: This 3T carbon seatpost is a work of art. It looks great, is strong and lightweight (only 195 g in the 280 mm length), and the clamping mechanism works great.

PS. - This is a $150 carbon seat post. I *highly* recommend that you use Finish Line "Fiber Grip" paste ($6/tube) and a $20 Ritchey 5 Nm torque key tool to tighten the seat post clamp down per spec. Do not over tighten the seat post clamp! If you use fiber paste you do not need to.

Not compatible with Fizik Arione saddle

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Big fan of 3T products, but this one was disappointing. Top portion of clamp was not wide enough to properly secure the saddle rails. See pictures.

Not compatible with Fizik Arione saddle

so what saddle can fit in the seat post? It's not standard?

I'm not really sure, since I sent it back. Assume it was just a defective one.

Bryan, that's really weird. Your Fizik saddle (great saddles) should have fit just fine on this 3T Stylus post. I have the same 3T Stylus 0 Team post and it has fit everything I have put on it -including a Selle SMP Pro, a Fizik Antares Versus X, and a Selle Italia SLR Max Flow Gel.

Maybe the rails on the Fizik saddle were a little bent? Anyone who is unsure should just call Comp Cyclist.
