For most of us, the juxtaposition of the words '3T' and 'wheelset' probably doesn't compute, but that's only because it has never made a wheelset before. This reality has been dramatically changed with the introduction of the 3T Mercurio 60 LTD Tubular Wheelset. The Mercurio is 3T's first jump into wheel production, and believe us, they've nailed it on the first try. 3T spared no expense in the Mercurio's development, hiring Formula One Ferrari engineer Richard McAinsh to spearhead the engineering team. Using the latest lab technologies and a new approach to development, 3T created a wheelset that's stiffer, lighter, and faster than the competition. 3T isn't just for your cockpit anymore; 3T wheels have arrived.

The 3T Mercurio 60 LTD Tubular Wheelset is a true innovation in wheel design. Featuring a 63mm rim depth that behaves more like a 45mm, the Mercurio offers predictable handling in a crosswind. The benefits of the new carbon fiber design don't stop at stability. The Mercurio 60 is also extremely lightweight, with an overall weight of 1390g that rivals the Zipp 404 Firecrest and Enve 65s. The new carbon layup also addresses a common problem in 100% carbon rims, that of poor braking. The Mercurio shape and layup provides increased durability and braking power in both wet and dry conditions.

3T loaded the Mercurio 60 LTD Tubular Wheelset with features that improve the ease of maintenance, rigidity, and aerodynamics. For example, the Mercurio 60 LTD uses a unique spoke juncture at the rim and hub, 'inverting' the spokes to place the nipples at the hub instead of the rim. On the lower rim section, the Mercurio 60 has what 3T calls 'spoke pockets' that hold the threaded end of the spoke in place instead of drilling the rim. This eliminates excess nipple weight at the rim, which in turn minimizes rolling resistance and reaction time. Additionally, the new molded spoke pockets allow the repair or replacement of damaged spokes without the chore of removing a tubular tire.

But easily the coolest feature of the Mercurio 60 LTD wheelset is the inclusion of a proprietary freehub body spline that accepts Campagnolo, Shimano, and SRAM cassettes. That's right, there's no need to switch freehub bodies ever again.

The revolutionary spoke pockets design in the Mercurio 60 LTD Tubular Wheelset is enabled by the use of 3T alloy hubs that feature a patented flange design licensed from Cane Creek. The rear hub features a rigid, oversized, drive-side flange, and the front hub has a wide flange with a contoured aerodynamic design. Matched with a low 18/24 spoke count, and Sapim CX-Ray spokes with aluminum nipples, the Mercurio 60 LTD offers unrivaled rigidity for sprightly acceleration and controlled cornering.

The 3T Mercurio 60 LTD Tubular Wheelset is only available as a tubular wheelset, and in a raw carbon finish. The rear wheel is designed to fit Campagnolo, Shimano, and SRAM cassettes. The wheelset includes 3T titanium quick-release skewers and 3T/Swiss Stop custom brake pads.
