Every advantage counts.

It's nice to say that you don't need a wetsuit to land a spot on the podium, but the reality is that you'll feel pretty foolish if you just miss out because you came out of the water a few seconds too slow. If you're finally ready to take the neoprene-clad plunge and pick up those key seconds, the 2XU V:3 Velocity Women's Wetsuit is fast, flexible, and relatively affordable, so you can finally get that first-leg advantage without having to ride an imaginary (and very cheap) bicycle during the second stage.

Wetsuits are all about reducing drag, maintaining flexibility, and increasing buoyancy in key areas. To accomplish the former, 2XU designed the V:3 with seamless front, leg, shoulder, and underarm panels, helping it achieve a ridiculously low drag coefficient, as well as serious flexibility. It also built velocity strakes onto the front panel of the suit, which provide hydrodynamic stability to keep you tracking straight in open water while helping you maintain the correct body position.

The body-position assistance of the V:3 doesn't end there, though. The chest panel of the suit is 39-cell neoprene, which helps keep your chest from sinking too deep and increasing drag. Contrastingly, the lower-leg panels are made of thin three-millimeter neoprene, for ease of movement and maximum kicking efficiency. The suit is also given a Nano SCS treatment, which is a coating that traps air bubbles under the first layer of the suit to increase buoyancy by up to four percent.

2XU also created Concave Water Entrapment Zones on the forearms, which increase your DPS (distance per stroke) by acting like small fins, moving more water with every stroke. A buoyant rollbar around the hips makes breathing more efficient, and the floating back zipper panel is designed specifically to not interfere with the stretch of the suit, so you don't have to deal with a "dead zone" that doesn't move with you.
