Perform Tri Shorts - Women's

It's no secret that triathlon apparel manufacturers have their work cut out for them. Essentially, you have to produce a piece that's suitable for three very different environments without sacrificing any one for the other. Luckily, though, 2XU has long been up to the challenge, which is thoroughly demonstrated here with the Perform Women's Tri Shorts.

The Perform Women's Tri shorts feature 2XU's 7D elastane SBR Power fabric. This material features light compressive support in order to keep your muscles fresh from the detrimental effects of road vibration—both from high-impact running and long course cycling. Additionally, the material also places a focus on hydrodynamics, meaning that your ability to cut through choppy waters is slightly increased. Think of it like an aero helmet for the water, and well, not on your head. And once you're past T1, the 7D SBR material works actively to wick moisture away from your skin, transporting to the surface of the fabric where it evaporates rapidly. End result? Dry skin that's free from chafing.

In terms of fit, you'll find that these shorts are built for race day. However, knowing that you'll be training in them as well, 2XU incorporated an adjustable waistband. Moving down the leg, the Perform Tri shorts feature silicone-free "Y" elastic grip at the opening in order to eliminate pinching. Meanwhile, the shorts were given a 7.7-inch inseam (size Medium) to provide a modest level of coverage.

Lastly, to keep you riding in comfort after T1, 2XU included its LD chamois. This perforated insert dries quickly once you're out of the water in order to provide a smooth transition. And while it's engineered to support you in the saddle, it's thin enough to feel virtually invisible on the run.
