Description

Recover faster from the most intense training session.

2XU is the bike industry leader in compression wear, thanks both to their R&D and their close association with the Cervélo Test Team and Team Garmin-Transitions. Of the dozens of pieces they produce, the Elite Compression Tights is the crown jewel of their entire line. What makes them stand apart? It mainly boils down to one fact: It offers more of what you want, namely, more compression. Unlike the 50 Denier High Power fabric they use in their other tights, the Elite Compression Tights uses 70 Denier fabric in key areas, providing 15% more support and 25% more power for superior muscle stability and blood flow. These key area are the calves and hamstrings -- areas 2XU identified as particularly prone to fatigue, injury, and soreness.

In case you were wondering, a "Denier" is a unit of measure for the linear mass density of fibers. It is defined as the mass in grams per 9,000 meters of a single yarn, where 1 Denier = 1 gram per 9,000 meters. Trivia aside, the Elite Compression Tights don't put aside comfort in the pursuit of performance. They have flat lock stitching to prevent seams from abrading your skin, and the graduated fit at the calves give you the perfect amount of compression without over-squeezing your legs as they taper down to the ankle.

Just as you'll down a huge glass of First Endurance Ultragen immediately after a hard ride to maximize your recovery, right after you shower you'll be laying the groundwork for soreness-free training tomorrow by slipping on these tights. Some folks wear them for an hour or two. Others sleep all night in them. They enhance circulation in your legs to get more oxygenated blood into them and to more rapidly flush out lactic acid.

Go-to tights for all my runs!

Go-to tights for all my runs!

38 mile White Mountain traverse in the Easter Sierra - these tights definitely helped me make it through this treacherous run.

I feel like I'm one of the X-MEN

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

You'll look and feel like a superhero in these tights. First off, I love how 2XU offers so many different sizes in these tights. I buy my tights because I want them TIGHT. A lot of times, they end up stretching out and lose their intended purpose. For a thin guy like me, it happens too often. I've used these 2XU Elite close to four years now and they have held their elasticity perfectly. I'm 5'6 and 130lbs and got an XS. Also, I never seem to overheat in these tights. They are breathable while keeping you a bit warmer than just wearing shorts. I've used them from about 15deg to 45deg being absolutely content.

Worn once, and good feel.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Getting the size correct based on the chart is difficult. You are better off w. the inseam chart as a guide. I am 5'8.5" (175cm) and the size that I got in the mail could only fit an 11-yro boy. Thankfully, Jon from CC support saved the weekend ride (all my other tights are ruined) with expedited shipping. At my inseam, he made the right call of getting the LT size. The feel is very good, but I need a thin chamois if I want a working fit. Beware that these cannot be dried in a drier or in sunlight. I hand-wash my riding clothes, but no drier use means that I have to buy more of these boys for ready, dry spares. The fit is really sexy, so be ready for the homophobes to phlegm and cough after you blast past them. Minus one star for the hard to fit chart and no drier use.

Muscular support-Recovery expediter

I have had a pair since the fall, and now look forward to wearing them after every intense ride, ski, or nordic workout. The cool reflective stickers are wearing thin, but the performance of the tight has remained unchanged. I actually wore these on the nordic track and in the skin track in the backcountry all winter and was pretty psyched to have the extra muscular-skeletal support that these provide. I am now wearing them after long hard rides, or long car drives to new riding adventures to help blood flow between the heart and the legs, I think they are also going to help expedite recovery. Get yourself some...you'll be happy you did.

Awesome Recovery Tights

Last weekend I rode an 80, then a 60 miler the next day. I wasn't planning on riding Monday, given I thought I would need a day off... That was until I slid into these babies. Both nights I slept overnight in them and woke up feeling fresher than ever. Firm believer in this technology.

Good for a long day of travel

If you know you have a long day of flights or driving these tights will help you get to your destination feeling a lot better than you would if you did not have anything on.

I have a pair of these tights and man what a difference they make. Increased power due to muscles being held together and much better form on the stroke. well worth the extra effort to keep strong and last long
