Start your day off right.

Having a fast swim, that isn't taxing to your entire body, is paramount to setting the tone for race day. Constructed with top-tier neoprene and an array of body positioning panels, for optimal body position and maximum stroke efficiency, the 2XU A:1 Active Wetsuit is perfectly positioned to start the day.

The A:1 has been entirely constructed using SCS-coated Yamamoto neoprene. This Japanese neoprene is highly flexible and easy to fashion into body-molding suits. And while the neoprene is itself buoyant, 2XU added proprietary features that enhance body positioning in the water. The most noticeable is a 39 Cell front buoyancy panel. This helps to elevate the body in the water, which, in turn, assists in stroke mechanics. Additionally, Velocity strakes placed on the chest streamline tracking through the water. The Rollbar technology also works to keep the core tight and the body properly positioned to maximize efficiency in the water. Added features include Concave Water Entrapment Zones (CWEZ) on the forearms that work to increase the strength of the pull-phase of the stroke, as well as a flexible, floating zip panel that increases flexibility in the reach-phase of the stroke. The lining of the wetsuit is able to stretch 520% to ensure a flexible and custom form-fit.

The A:1 wetsuit is, of course, a form-fit suit. It features a full-length rear zip with extended strap so that you'll be able to quickly grab it running into T1. The suit secures at the neck with a wide hook-and-loop panel. It comes with a 2-year warranty.

The 2XU A:1 Active Wetsuit - Men's is available in Black/vibrant green and in the sizes X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XX-Large.

Here's what others have to say...

Great!!! Entry Level Wetsuit

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

I will focus on two things about this wetsuit, things that I feel anyone who is looking for a wetsuit of this caliber will be interested in. Side note: I'm an ok swimmer, have a good body position in the water.
1. Quality vs a more expensive wetsuit. My review is limited here, but I've had a Blue70 Reaction suit that I returned due to sizing. As far a quality goes, I will say that the Blue70 Reaction is noticeably better quality. Minor things like the seams, inside lining, zipper and overall construction. Flip side is that you will pay a lot more, duh! The question is, it is worth the extra and will you notice while swimming. In my opinion, I didn't notice it that much. Buoyancy is about the same between the two. I actually find it easier to remove the 2XU in T1 than I did with the Reaction.
2. Sizing: This is always a question and I wish more people posted this. After reading someone's else's comment I went with a Medium. I am 180.3cm tall, 96.5cm chest, 85cm inseam, 78cm waist and I weigh 63.5kg. The medium fits me perfect. I have enough room to wear my Tri Kit under and a HR strap too without it constricting my breathing.
3. Summary: I got this suit for just under $200 here after BC 20% promo, credits and ebates. For the price, you can't go wrong. And if you are looking at an entry level wetsuit, I think this a great option. Would I buy again, yes!
Side note....I forgot my Body Glide during one training session and was able to swim 2500meters without any neck irritation.
